use Windows Explorer to examine the songs in one of the Jethro Tull folders that don't get added to iTunes.Are the songs fully tagged? I went into add folder & tried both just click on Studio Albums & then clicking into the folder and checking the explorer check boxes. If it is, copy it into the correct sub-folder and then use the File/Add Folder to Library command. Again, this adds the song to your Library.ĭid you ever make a back up of your files? Most (if not all) of your music should be located in the Music folder on your computer. use Windows Explorer to look in the music folder.If the above suggestion doesn't find anything, try browsing the folders instead: Try a few of the missing items in case the folder is not named as it should be. Does the Search find anything that is missing? If so, go to the location to see what else is there and make a note of the exact file path to the songs. Your first approach should be to search your folders (using Windows' Search feature) to look for the album title, or the artist. Think of one of your albums that has disappeared. But since you say that you have no songs with exclamation marks beside them in your Library, this means that the next suggestion probably won't work, but you have to try it. If iTunes loses track of where the file for a song is located, the entry remains in your iTunes Library but with an exclamation mark next to the song title. If you are still have a frozen home screen or a non-responsive home screen on your iPod Touch at this point, find the closest apple shop because you may potentially need an ipod repair to restore it back to normal.In my experience music does not simply disappear from iTunes.

Click your iPod name on the left side of the screen and hit ‘Check for Updates’ button, than follow the steps on the screen and install any updates to your iPod.
If you use an iPod Touch for more than just listening to music, say for business, keeping track of contacts, answering emails and storing important data - nothing else is more frustrating than a frozen ipod touch screen.
